Increased Game Sales and Global Reach
Client: Techland
Location: Warsaw, PL
Cooperation since: 2015
Project: gemly.com
Scope of cooperation: solution design, implementation, integrations, support
Project background
Techland is one of the most recognized Polish developers, publishers, and distributors of video games. The company produces high-budget titles for all major platforms – PC, Xbox, PlayStation – and develops mobile games for iOS and Android.
The Techland team has released over 20 games, including international hits such as Dead Island, Call of Juarez, Dying Light, and Dying Light: The Following. Its portfolio includes both in-house productions and titles from external developers that Techland publishes.
Challenge
The dynamic growth of Techland’s portfolio and the increasing global popularity of its games created the need to build a modern digital sales channel. Existing market solutions did not allow the company to fully leverage player data, personalize offers, or effectively engage its fan community. Techland needed a platform that would simultaneously deliver a unique purchasing experience, open new opportunities for content monetization, and enable expansion beyond the Polish market.

In response to these needs, we designed and implemented Gemly.com – a dedicated digital e-commerce platform for gamers. The platform provides access to exclusive content related to Techland titles and a curated selection of games from partner publishers.
This project was among the first global implementations of Sitecore Experience Commerce, enabling full personalisation of offers based on user behaviour and community recommendations.
Platform Highlights:
- Targeted at international markets (USA, EMEA),
- Integrates with leading game distributors,
- Equipped with dedicated tools: sales reports, publisher reports, fraud detection systems, and catalog management application,
- Enables full audience analysis and segmentation, enhancing the overall shopping experience.
Results
The launch of Gemly.com enabled Techland to significantly boost digital game sales and engage its player community worldwide.
Personalised offers, integration with leading distributors, and unique premium content resulted in measurable growth in both conversions and revenue, creating a strong foundation for further international expansion.
