Project Background
Our collaboration with VUE International began with the development of a mobile app for Multikino – one of the group’s key brands. We were then entrusted with the implementation, development, and maintenance of a Sitecore 8-based platform used to manage cinema websites across several markets, including Poland, Germany, Italy, and Lithuania.
At a later stage, following VUE’s decision to migrate to a newer version of the system (Sitecore 10), part of the project was handed over to another vendor. However, we continued supporting selected markets still operating on the existing platform. Over time – thanks to the trust built over the years and our technical capabilities – VUE assigned us responsibility for maintaining the infrastructure of the new platform as well.

Taking over the infrastructure of a newly deployed platform posed a demanding challenge: it required not only in-depth knowledge of the existing environment but also the ability to act quickly and flexibly. Our role was to ensure uninterrupted performance and stability across key markets – including the UK and Poland – while also providing DevOps support.
Periods of heightened traffic during blockbuster movie premieres were especially critical. Any second of downtime could mean both financial and reputational losses. That’s why proactive infrastructure management, real-time monitoring, and quick response to potential issues became essential.

Thanks to our long-standing relationship with VUE and a deep understanding of their technology ecosystem, we were able to take over the new platform efficiently. In a short time, we ensured business continuity and high availability, working with an infrastructure based on Microsoft Azure and Sitecore 10.
Our responsibilities covered end-to-end infrastructure management – from monitoring and diagnostics to implementing changes in testing and production environments and preparing the system for heavy traffic during movie releases.
Project scope
Analysis: audit of the inherited infrastructure, review of Azure environment configuration and Sitecore 10 components, risk identification
DevOps & Infrastructure: Azure environment management, system performance monitoring and diagnostics, deployment of updates from external teams in UAT and production environments
Operational Collaboration: coordination with the client’s Retail Assist team and other external partners, active support in preparing for large-scale movie premieres
Proactive Risk Mitigation: use of tools like Cloudflare to ensure the security of the Azure-based infrastructure in the face of potential threats
Support & Maintenance: continuous service availability, rapid incident response, ongoing performance optimisation of the production environment
